We ate at Yuka's home with friends who were visiting Tokyo with the 9 month old baby. It was a wonderful experience! We didn't have to worry about whether or not the baby would bother anyone, and Yuka and her husband (and their dogs) are very sweet and welcoming. The food was delicious, and it was presented beautifully. Thanks, Yuka!

Dinner at Yuka-san's beautiful home is lovely! A great opportunity to experience Japanese home cooking and warm hospitality! She speaks great English so communication is not a problem. Definitely a great experience if you want to get a feel of Japanese local living!

After searching through many different home cooks on kitchhike, I decided to visit Yuka at her "Yucafe" for a western style brunch. I love Japanese food and while her Japanese dishes also looked very delicious, I'm in Japan often enough that sometimes I miss "western" style food while in Japan. Yuka was very friendly and quick to answer my questions. She gave me some choices for the western brunch which all sounded great, so I told her that I like sweet food and to please decide what she wants to make. I couldn't have asked for a better menu and everything was SO delicious. My description will not do the menu justice, but she made french toast with home made bread and whip cream, coconut pancake with bananas, sweet potatoes with bacon, salad with home made dressing and a carrot and cranberry relish (I think it was a relish)! Everything worked perfectly together and just the right amount to fill me. I've had a lot of breakfasts in Japan, home made, hotel or restaurant, this has to be one of my favorites, it was really that good! I cannot wait to return to Yucafe and taste some more of her delicious creations. Thank you!

The host, Yuka, was extremely welcoming and friendly. Other than having tasty dishes prepared by Yuka, it was also great to learn few cooking tips from her.

KitchHike provided me a quick way to experience the real Japanese culture and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in other cultures and building friendships with local people.
